I rated this as "duo", because it's not really that hard. You just have to make sure you angle it the right way so the crayons drip how you want them to.
What you need:
- Canvas, any size
- Crayons (They don’t have to be brand new)
- Pencil
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hair dryer
Sorry there's just one picture! I made this at a friend's house and I didn't have my camera, but I thought that the project was so cool that I had to put it on the blog. It's pretty self explanatory, so you shouldn't have too much trouble.
Tip:
It’s easiest to do this outside, because the melted crayon might
splatter. When my friend and I did this for the first time, we did it
in her kitchen and it took us FOREVER to scrape all of the crayon off
her counter.
How to make it:
- Lay your crayons on your canvas. You can use random colors, lay them out like a rainbow, or just stick to a few colors. You can line your crayons across the top of the canvas, or design them in cool shapes.
- (This step is optional) Use a pencil to trace around your crayons when you’ve laid them out, so if you bump or move your canvas you’ll know where they should go back to.
- With your hot glue gun, glue the crayons in place.
- Stand your canvas up, and turn your hair dryer on high. Put your hair dryer close to the crayons at first to melt them. This might take a little bit. Then position your dryer a little further back, and watch your crayons paint your canvas!
- Let the melted crayons dry. This will only take a few minutes.
And that's all! Is there anything that didn't make sense or was hard to figure out because there weren't any pictures? Feel free to comment and I'll try to help! :)
