Clay Bead

So, I was never got a chance to create a clever Valentine's day post, so I decided to go with this clay bead instead. Creating this beautiful bead is something that beginners can do and wear in under an hour. This simple clay bead can be used for a craft at a birthday party, something to-do on a rainy day, or a Valentine for a friend.  I had a lot of fun creating this unique piece of jewelry hope that it will help to make a happy Valentines day.

Materials Include
  • 2 colors of oven bake clay (I use Sculpey)
  • A rolling pin
  • Parchment paper
  • Toothpick or skewer
  • Oven
  • Creative mind set

How To:

1.)  Cut off a piece of clay from each color and start to knead the clay making it softer.

2.)   Roll each of the colors into little snakes about 1/4 to 1/8 of an inch thick.

3.)  Take the two snakes and start to twist them together like shown in the photo.

4.) Take the snake that you created in the previous step and roll it out until it is flat.

5.) Take the flat piece of clay and cut it into a triangle with the longest side being about an inch.

6.)  Take your triangle starting from the widest side roll it onto the toothpick or skewer.

7.) Carefully take the bead of the toothpick or skewer and place it into the oven for the time and temperature stated on the clay packaging.

8.) Enjoy the unique piece of jewelry you have created.
