Clay Santa Hat

When your looking for something fun to-do but don't have all day to work this project is the way to go.  I will walk you through the steps to making this Santa Hat and hopefully you'll b able to make one just like it to. I am rating this as a "duo" just because you have to go and buy stuff if you don't have clay, and for the full definition of duo look to the right hand side bar.

What you need:
  • Wire
  • Wire Cutter
  • Paint Brush
  • Red bake-able clay
  • White bake-able clay
  • Key ring
  • Glaze
  • Oven
  • Knife
  • Tooth pick or metal thing like a tooth pick (I don't know what is't called)
  • Key ring loop

How To:

1.) Cut off a piece of red clay.

2.) Play with your clay until it get soft enough so that you can work with it.

3.) Roll the clay into a ball.

4.) Use your finger and roll one side of the ball to a point.

5.) Take and press your cone into the table so that it is flat on the bottom.  (So you will have it looking like a cone)

6.) Take out your white clay and cut off a piece of it. (a tip here would be to wash your hands after handling the red clay)

7.) As always play with your clay.

8.) Divide your clay making one small piece and one bigger piece.  Then roll them out into balls.

9.) Take the big ball and press it flat.

10.) Place the pancake you just made at the bottom of your hat and the small ball at the top.

11.) Take the tooth pick or metal piece and mess up the white so it looks fluffy.

12.) Take out your wire and make a wire knot at the bottom and cut off about 4 inches of wire.

13.) Stick the wire through the hat with the knot on the bottom.

13.) At the top make a loop.

14.) Bake your clay according to the package.

15.) Glaze!

Enjoy!
