Naturally Your Journal!

Do you need something to do with your kids? Something that needs a small amount and easy to find materials? Well this is your craft; you can make this journal as big or as small as you want. However, I have yet to tell you the best part . . . You get to go on a hunt for one of the most important materials.  This craft incorporates nature and it can be a fun scavenger hunt to find the perfect twig for the binding. Okay, I think that all that is left is to start this craft. So let's get started!

This project is going to be rated at a Eh even though it may not seem like it.  If you don't know what Eh means we defined it as . . . If someone were to ask you how hard this project was after you've completed it, you would most likely say "eh".  However, that does not mean this project is not fun.  It will be sure to challenge you without frustrating you.

Materials
  • One piece of colored card-stock
  • 4-8 pieces of printer paper
  • One rubber band
  • One twig
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Tack
  • Scissors

How To:

1.)  Take all of the papers and fold them in half.

2.)  Unfold the pieces of paper.

3.) Cut all of them down the fold line, so that you end up with 18 pieces of paper.

4.) Once again fold all of the papers in half including the card stock.

This is what the sheets should look like.

5.)  Place the printer paper inside of  each other and then inside of the card-stock, so that it forms a book.

6.) Take a tack and poke two holes; each about an inch away from the edge. Do this for all of the papers including the cardstock.

7.) Take the rubber band and push the ends through the holes, so that there is a long line of rubber band on the inside of the paper (as shown).

8.)  Take the twig and feed the two rubber band loops on it.

9.) Cut the printer paper so that it is cleaned up around the edges. Meaning you can't see the white from the outside.
10.) Enjoy your homemade journal!
