Doll Dress

Okay, so this post should have been put up about 2 weeks ago, but I have been falling behind.  As a result I am behind as always.  So I am soooooo sorry.  I hope that you enjoy this enough to be worth the wait.  Here is the description: Do you need a fast and easy idea for someone that loves American Girl Dolls or just some thing fun to do on a rainy summer day? Well these easy and fun instructions to show you how to make a dress, shoes, and a headband for your American Girl Doll.

Materials:
  • Ruler
  • Exacto Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Scissors
  • 2 to 3 colored Duck Tape

How to:

1.) Pick your colors (tip: choose two solid colors or make the strap a pattern color and the body solid

2.) Cut six 13 inch strips of the body color.

3.) Cut six 13 inch strips for the inside of your dress, which can be the same of different color as the body of the dress.

4.) Cut one piece of your main body color and one of the inside color that is 10 inches long.

5.) Cut two 13 inch piece that are in the color of your strap.

6.) Cut two 2 inch pieces of your main body color.

7.) Make a fabric out of the tape by putting the pieces for the main body together.  Remember to do it one piece at a time.

8.) Trip any extra edges.

9.) Create a tub by taking the 10 inch long piece of tape and putting them on the edge of the fabric (you just created).
10.) Put the strap pieces of tape together
  1. Put the tub on your doll as far up as it will go. Then take your strap and put it across the top part of the dress and take the 2 inch piece of tape and tape them down.
11.) Put the tub on your doll as far up as it will go.  Then take your strap and put it across the crest of your doll. Take the 2 inch pieces of tape to hold the strap in place.

Now you have a duct tape dress for your doll.  Come back soon to see the next part of this.  I will show you how to make shoes.

Bye for Now,
Ella
