Candy Corn Fun!!!

Are you looking for the perfect Halloween accessory?  Something to wear once you have decided that you just don't want to dress up?  These are simple and will show your Halloween spirit.  So, let's get started on this Halloween adventure.  I hope that you enjoy these candy corn earrings.

I rated these earrings as "Duo" because they are not too hard once you get started with them.  There may seem like a lot of steps, but that just because I took a lot of pictures and was able to really break the steps up. So, don't let the number of steps scare you.  Even though it is easy you may have to pick up a few things from your craft store. If you want the full definition of "duo", check out the right hand side bar.

Let's get started :o)

What You Need:

  • Orange clay that you bake ( I use Sculpey )
  • White clay that you bake ( I use Sculpey )
  • Yellow clay that you bake ( I use Sculpey )
  • Clay Knife
  • Wire
  • Earring Hooks
  • Paint Brush
  • Glaze
  • Mat or paper plate

How To:

1.) Cut off a sliver of the yellow clay.

2.) Play with your clay to get all of the air bubbles out.

3.) Cut the clay in half.

4.) Form the two balls into rectangles that have rounded edges.  Like the bottom of a candy corn.

5.) Cut and play with your orange clay.

5.) Take your orange clay and form two small balls.

6.) Flatten your orange clay out a bit and place it on top if the yellow clay. ( Do this for both pieces of candy corn. )

7.) Round out the edges and form them into triangles without a tip.

8.) Cut and play with your white clay.

9.) Use your fingers to form two small triangles, for the tips of your candy corn.

10.) Place the white piece on top of the candy corn, making a triangle. ( Once again do this for both pieces. )

11.) Round off the edges and make sure everything is pressed together.

12.) Take your metal poky thing and stick it through the candy corn. From the bottom to the top ( try your best not to dis-form it ). Repeat this step for your second piece.

14.) Cut off about 3 inches of wire for each earring.

15.) Use some pliers to roll up the bottom of the wire.

16.) Place the candy corn on the wire. Repeat these last two steps with the other candy corn.

17.) Place both of the pieces on a tray and bake in the oven according to the instructions on the clay's package.

18.) Glaze the earrings once they are cooled.

19.) Hang the candy corn to dry.

20.) Bend the top of your wire over so that it makes a "J" (kind of). Make sure that you have the candy corn on the wire.

21.) Place your earring hook on the "J" shape that you made. (as shown)

22.) Roll the wire over, so that the earring will not fall off.

Enjoy your earring!

Have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN (and remember to be safe)!
